The escalating wave of violence has not dented Israel’s tourism industry, the Tourism Ministry says.
“It appears that there have been no significant cancellations to date in tourist bookings,” the ministry says following a meeting earlier today at the ministry with industry leaders.
The meeting included Tourism Ministry Director General Amir Halevi, Hotels Association CEO Noaz Bar-Nir, Incoming Tour Operators Association CEO Yossi Fattal, Jerusalem Hotels Association chairman Yishai Barnea and Tour Guides Association chairman Benny Kfir.
According to Central Bureau of Statistics figures cited by the ministry, 225,000 tourist entries were recorded in September 2015, “25% more than the same period in 2014 and an increase of 6% on September 2013.”
