Russia to veto UN resolution against Syria chemical attack
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleRussian media says Moscow plans to veto a UN Security Council resolution against Syria for its apparent sarin gas attack last week, which killed approximately 87 people.
The resolution is backed by the United States, United Kingdom and France. It would allow international investigations into the attack.
According to the independently-owned Interfax, Russian deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov says Russia would veto the resolution as it stands now.
The UN Security Council could vote on the resolution later today.
