Tel Aviv bound flight returns to Barcelona after engine catches fire
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA flight operated by the Israeli airline Arkia, from Barcelona to Tel Aviv, returns to Barcelona shortly after taking off due to engine troubles.
Israel’s Channel 13 news says the engine caught fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
Arkia says the aircraft was a Boeing plane owned by an Italian airline.
“The passengers got off the plane and Arkia is working on an alternative solution to bring them to Israel as soon as possible,” the company is quoted saying by the Ynet news site.
