Zamir says Iran’s military capabilities largely ‘destroyed,’ regime has been ‘significantly cracked’

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says most of Iran’s “military capabilities have been destroyed” and its nuclear program “set back by years,” as the Israeli Air Force receives its first Boeing KC-46 “Gideon” refueling plane from the United States.

“The structure of evil built by the ayatollah regime has been significantly cracked, and its future and stability are shrouded in uncertainty,” Zamir says at the ceremony inaugurating the aircraft.

“Its leaders are being hunted, most of its military capabilities have been destroyed, its nuclear program has been set back by years,” he adds. “Its economy is collapsing, and its citizens have yet to grasp the scale of the disaster their extremist leaders have brought upon them.”

The aircraft was inaugurated at Nevatim Airbase during a ceremony attended by Zamir and Israeli Air Force chief Maj. Gen. Omer Tischler. It is the first of six KC-46 aircraft purchased by the Defense Ministry.

“The arrival of the new plane significantly strengthens the air force’s superiority in the ongoing multi-front war and in long-range operations,” the IDF says, noting that the aircraft also provide “advanced transport and multi-mission capabilities.”

“Here, from the runways of Nevatim Airbase, refueling aircraft took off around two months ago and carried the entire air force to Iran on their wings,” Tischler says, referring to the US-Israel war on Iran.

“Even at this hour, the air force is in the skies – its aircraft and personnel are operating from the air and on the ground, striking Hezbollah with force,” he says, adding that the new KC-46s provide “more fuel, more payload, farther reach.”
