The material girl’s son Rocco became a man last week in a ceremony at New York City’s Kaballah Center. Madonna, her ex-husband, British director Guy Ritchie, and her current boyfriend, dancer Brahim Zaibat, all attended the festive event Saturday, which was preceded by a small family gathering the day before.
According to gossip magazine US Weekly, Madonna and Ritchie were very cordial, and a source present said they looked “so proud” of Rocco, their joint son from their marriage that ended in 2008.
Reports recently surfaced that the queen of pop, who is known to dabble in Jewish mysticism, had set her sights on buying an apartment in Israel. Madonna was spotted with a brochure for a high-end housing project in Tel Aviv.
Madonna has visited Israel several times over the past decade and seems to be enjoying a love affair with the Israeli public that’s only been intensifying with the pop diva’s growing interest in Jewish mysticism.
A year ago, she chose Tel Aviv as the venue for the first concert on her MDNA 2012 tour, playing to an adoring crowd of 30,000 at Ramat Gan Stadium. During her stay in Israel, Madonna also took the opportunity to visit holy sites, including the Western Wall tunnels in Jerusalem.

Responsibly covering this tumultuous time
As The Times of Israel’s political correspondent, I spend my days in the Knesset trenches, speaking with politicians and advisers to understand their plans, goals and motivations.
I'm proud of our coverage of this government's plans to overhaul the judiciary, including the political and social discontent that underpins the proposed changes and the intense public backlash against the shakeup.
