Police discovered the burned remains of a 20-year-old man Thursday in a building site beside Beersheba’s central bus station.
Signs of violence were found on the immolated victim, leading police to believe that the incident might be a murder.
An investigation was opened into the event but thus far no suspects have been apprehended.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene after locals complained of smoke rising from a building site. After a brief search, the man’s charred remains were discovered.
“When I came to the construction site I saw a young man lying on the ground exhibiting signs of violence and burns over his body with no signs of life,” Magen David Adom paramedic Oren Vecht said.
“In a short time we had to declare his death.”
