Palestinian taxi driver claims settlers smashed his car

A Palestinian taxi driver claimed Jewish settlers smashed the front windowpane of his vehicle Monday morning as he was driving north of Ramallah in the West Bank, Israel Radio reported.

No one was harmed in the attack, which took place near Wadi Haramia, and there were no passengers in the taxi. After the incident, the attackers continued on their way.

Musa al-Amleh, who is approximately 50 years old, said that a vehicle traveling towards him blocked his path as he was making his way to the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

After the vehicle stopped, one of the four passengers exited it and started smashing the taxi’s front windowpane with an iron rod.

Amleh, who is from Kfar Qabalan, south of Nablus, said that no words were exchanged between him and the attackers, and that there were no eyewitnesses.

The Palestinians also blamed Jewish settlers for an incident last night in which rocks were thrown at a bus as it made its way to the Palestinian town of Dura, southwest of Hebron.

The passengers were returning from a visit to comfort mourners at the home of the Dawabsha family in Duma, where an 18-month-old boy was killed early Friday morning when the house was firebombed, allegedly by Jewish terrorists.

One of the people in the bus said that neither the driver nor the commuters could see the stone-throwers, and that the incident occurred as a car overtook them, according to Israel Radio.

Photos of the taxi and the bus were shared by Palestinians on social media sites.

No complaints were submitted to the IDF Civil Administration, Israel’s governing body in the West Bank.
