Emmy-nabbing, Jew-thanking, badass comedian Sarah Silverman made her debut appearance Saturday as host of the widely popular “Saturday Night Live” show, devouring the stage as if it were a pastrami sandwich after the fast of Yom Kippur.

Dressed like a disoriented, boozed-up version of Janelle Monae, Silverman started off with a pat on her own back, asserting that the prospect of her hosting the show was not as big of a deal as some would seem it to be.

“I’m a pretty big comedian,” Silverman stated matter-of-factly. “It kinda makes all the sense in the world.”

Giving a nod to the High Holiday, which concluded several hours earlier, Silverman went on to assure Hasidic Jews that God would not punish them if they resorted to wearing a “nice cotton blend” in the summer.

“You’re being ridiculous,” she offered to the oft heavily clothed Jews.

The self-described “important comedian” continued to deliver her sassy shtick, which included sitting on a visibly distraught audience member’s lap, conversing with an excited recording of herself from the 90s, and promoting her award-winning HBO comedy special “Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles.”

Silverman concluded by introducing the special musical guests of the show, Maroon 5, a band fronted by Adam Levine, who happens to be another sexy Jewish celebrity.
