Shell fired from Syria kills 3 in Turkey
Six-year-old boy reportedly among fatalities in the town of Akcakale
BEIRUT (AP) — A Turkish official says a shell fired from Syria has landed on a home in neighboring Turkey, killing at least three people, including a 6-year-old boy.
Abdulhakim Ayhan is the mayor of the Turkish town of Akcakale, which is along the Syrian border. He told Turkey’s state-owned Anadolu Agency that the boy and a woman were among the dead in Wednesday’s shelling.
Anadolu Agency reported angry townspeople marched to the mayor’s office to protest the deaths.
