Shots fired at IDF troops near Nablus
No casualties reported in West Bank incident; forces searching the area for perpetrators
Shots were fired Thursday evening in the direction of IDF soldiers who were operating near the city of Nablus in the West Bank, the military said.
There were no casualties in the incident, the IDF said. Troops were conducting searches in the area for suspects, it added.
Palestinian groups have called for clashes with Israeli forces to protest the US administration’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy to the city.
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said in February that Israel’s security forces thwarted between 20 and 30 terror attacks in the West Bank each week over the past few months.
