Woman jumps out of window after row which led to mother’s death

A woman is being held by police on suspicion of killing her mother, and then jumping out of the Tel Aviv apartment where the fatal incident occurred.

The elderly woman died Thursday evening after falling and sustaining injuries at her home during a quarrel with her daughter.

Police officers scrambled to the apartment on Herzl Street, alerted by neighbors who said they heard screams from inside. When they arrived they found the older woman unconscious, lying in the bathroom.

Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the woman, 67, to the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv in serious condition. She was later pronounced dead.

According to the daughter’s testimony to police investigators, the two women were in the middle of a heated argument, she pushed her 67-year-old mother, and the mother fell and was injured.

While police and paramedics were at the scene, the daughter, 47, climbed out of the window of the apartment, located on the building’s first floor, and jumped. She was lightly injured and evacuated to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon while under arrest.
