‘Wonder Woman’ attacked as ‘Zionist’ on Twitter
Amid social media chatter about her new film, some Twitter users target Israeli actress Gal Gadot to express anti-Israel sentiment
Israeli actress Gal Gadot, star of the upcoming “Wonder Woman” movie, has been attacked on Twitter for being a “Zionist.”
Gadot, who was a fashion model and actress in Israel, and was Miss Israel 2004 before she broke into films, performed two years of compulsory service in the Israel Defense Forces.
“Wonder Woman” is scheduled to hit theaters on June 2, 2017, focusing on a classic DC Comics character who was introduced earlier this year to moviegoers in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
Warner Brothers gave fans the first sneak peak of the movie on Saturday, showing the hotly-anticipated film’s first official trailer at San Diego Comic-Con.
After the buzz over the Amazonian princess’s appearance in Batman v Superman, the trailer for her first full feature film led to a great deal of social media chatter about the film and the actress.
Some Twitter users, however, used Gadot’s Israeli origins to express anti-Israel sentiment, brandishing her as a “Zionist” and therefore not worthy of praise.

Others stood up fro Gadot, saying the fact that she is Israeli is irrelevant.
This woman isn't responsible for what Israel does or doesn't do,she's just a person, and should be treated thusly

Gadot has not responded to the tweets.
Gadot is also scheduled to appear in the superhero film “Justice League,” which comes out in November 2017.
Taking place during the World War I era, “Wonder Woman” will introduce the hero’s alter ego, Diana Prince, and her origins on the Amazonian island of Themyscira.
