Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUNITED NATIONS (AP) — The UN Security Council is condemning the terrorist attack in Yemen “in the strongest terms.”
A statement issued by the UN’s most powerful body following Monday’s suicide bombing in the capital Sanaa that killed nearly 100 soldiers called all terrorist acts “criminal and unjustifiable” regardless of their motivation and the perpetrators.
The council reaffirmed that terrorism is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security and reiterated its determination to combat all forms of terrorism.
Earlier, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned the attack, called for the perpetrators to be held accountable, and urged all Yemenis to reject violence, UN associate spokesman Farhan Haq said.
