A police officer and two suspected burglars were injured during a police chase in Ramat Gan overnight Wednesday.
Officers were called to the Ramat Chen neighborhood of the Tel Aviv suburb after reports from neighbors of a home break-in, according to Channel 10.
The pair of alleged thieves attempted to escape in their vehicle, but ran into a police roadblock. When they attempted to plow through the barrier, police opened fire.
An officer was injured in the collision. Initial reports did not indicate his condition. He was taken to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds, with one hospitalized in serious condition from shots to the abdomen and legs. The condition of the second man was not immediately clear.
