David Beckham’s catch of the day at Wimbledon

Former England soccer star David Beckham showed he’s still got his balls skills — albeit with a smaller ball and his hands, not his feet — during the Wimbledon men’s doubles semi-final on Thursday.

Watching from the Royal Box as Israeli veteran Yoni Erlich and his German partner Phillipp Petzschner played Britain’s Jamie Murray and Australian John Peers, Beckham must have been surprised to see the ball deflecting off a line-judge’s chair and heading his way.

But not too surprised to catch it in his right hand, and nonchalantly throw it back.

Smiling broadly and then a little bashfully as the crowd erupted in cheers, Beckham, 40, waved a hand in acknowledgement, and play soon resumed.

The match ended in defeat for Erlich and Petzschner, who went down in four sets to Britain’s Jamie Murray and Australian John Peers.
