Dress like Portman and Streisand

Just in case Hollywood wasn’t Jewish enough, Nate D. Sanders is having a Jewish Oscar Auction in the run up to the Academy Awards on March 2.

Why watch the televised ceremony curled up on the couch in your jammies when you could be sporting a clothing item once worn by a famous Jewish actress?

On the block are a bodysuit and pants ensemble that once belonged to Barbra Streisand, as well as a cute t-shirt and shorts outfit Natalie Portman wore while filming the 2011 romcom “No Strings Attached” opposite Ashton Kutcher.

For a minimum bid of $5,000, you could end up owning a crème-colored silk Donna Karan body suit with shoulder pads and matching wool trousers by Muriel Crateau, Paris. The Streisand Foundation provided the certificate of authenticity affirming the outfit actually touched Bab’s body. It’s definitely something for those of us who miss the ’80s to consider.

While there are many women out there who could wear Streisand’s size medium clothes, far fewer could squeeze in to the size 2 shorts the very petite Natalie Portman wore as Emma in “No Strings Attached.” The navy shorts are being auctioned off together in the same lot with a size small v-neck t-shirt with purple stripes, with a minimum bid of $750.

Other items may catch your eye: Milton Berle’s 1991 California driver’s license; a signed wedding picture of Frank and Barbara Sinatra gave as a gift to Berle and his wife Ruth; the life jackets worn by Richard Dreyfuss and Steven Spielberg during the filming of “Jaws”; George Burns’ “Entertainer of the Century” plaque; and Adam Sandler’s wardrobe from “Click.”
