A 20-year-old resident of the Shuafat refugee camp in east Jerusalem, who is suspected of shooting at homes in Pisgat Ze’ev — also in east Jerusalem — on Friday and Saturday, was shot and seriously wounded by Border Police forces.
After bullets were found in several homes in the Jewish neighborhood in east Jerusalem Friday, a special Border Police unit was dispatched Saturday to look for the shooter. When shots were fired Saturday afternoon, the unit responded, wounding the gunman.
The gunman was evacuated by a Red Crescent ambulance to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem, where he went taken for surgery.
Police said they are looking for other suspects involved in the shooting at Pisgat Ze’ev residences on Friday.
