Ex-soccer star scored 429 parking tickets
Former international player Itzik Zohar broke the law in 14 different vehicles

The Herzliya Magistrate’s Court on Sunday ordered Itzik Zohar, former international soccer player and television sports personality, to pay the Tel Aviv Municipality in excess of NIS 192,000 (over $50,000) in accumulated parking fines. Zohar was also ordered to pay legal expenses totaling more than NIS 15,000 after failing to present a defense.
The Tel Aviv Municipality sued Zohar two months ago for 429 unpaid parking tickets that were issued from 2003 to 2010. The prosecution’s statement revealed that Zohar was ticketed for 14 different vehicles, only four of which were registered to him.
According to the city it was nearly impossible to reach Zohar. The municipality claimed that he constantly switched addresses and a majority of notices sent to him were returned unclaimed.
In order to make its case against Zohar the city had to hire private investigators.
