A fire broke out Sunday in a field in Moshav Zeitan near Ben Gurion Airport, the country’s main international terminus, the Israel Police said.

Six fire truck, assisted by a helicopter were called to the scene to bring the blaze under control.

Police evacuated people from homes closest to the fire.

There were no reports of injuries or disruption to flights at the airport.

Video from the scene appeared to show several cars consumed by flames, though it appeared they were junkyard wrecks.

Evacuated residents were reportedly able to return to their homes after rescue services succeeded in containing the fire.

The blaze came as temperatures reached 28° Celsius (82° Fahrenheit) in the area and after a hot and dry weekend.
