The IDF says it struck in recent days an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps military facility embedded within Imam Hossein University in central Tehran.
According to the military, the university – described as “one of the IRGC’s central military infrastructure sites” – has allegedly been used under civilian cover for weapons research and development, including work tied to ballistic missiles and other advanced capabilities.
The IDF says the strike hit several core components of the site, including underground wind tunnels used for ballistic missile testing, a chemistry center said to be involved in chemical weapons research, and a central engineering complex tied to weapons development.
The military has targeted the site in previous strikes, saying that the university’s direct affiliation with the IRGC and its role in advancing military capabilities make it a legitimate target, adding that strikes were aimed at significantly degrading Iran’s weapons production and development capabilities.
