A 24-year-old Israeli backpacker who died Wednesday in India after falling out of a moving train was trying to take a selfie when he plunged to his death.
The results of a preliminary investigation, according to the Walla news website, indicate the Israeli man was not sitting on the roof of the train at the time, as had been reported earlier.
The Foreign Ministry was working with the Indian authorities to transfer his body to Israel for burial. His name has not been released for publication.
The backpacker fell off a train making its way from Mumbai to Goa.
Police said the man had not been robbed and that there were no initial suspicions of foul play in his death.
