After Abbas speech, Bennett says the ‘era of a Palestinian state is over’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleFollowing PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ speech calling Israel a “colonial project,” Education Minister Naftali Bennett says “the era of a Palestinian state is over.”
Speaking at a Knesset faction meeting of the right-wing Jewish Home party, Bennett says Abbas “has lost his connection with reality.”
“Abu Mazen and the idea of a Palestinian state are passing from the world,” he says, using Abbas’s Arabic nickname.
Bennett says “the era of sovereignty has begun” and calls for annexing chunks of the West Bank.
