Infections slide among Palestinians amid questions about testing
Palestinians saw 429 new infections in the West Bank and Gaza in the past 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry.
The number of active cases has fallen over the past two weeks in both the West Bank and in Gaza. But concerns about testing abound: around 15% of West Bank Palestinians tested for the virus in the past 24 hours were confirmed to be carrying the virus.
East Jerusalem saw only 38 new infections yesterday, according to Jerusalem municipality statistics. But in the capital testing appears to be low. On Friday, 38% of tests conducted among East Jerusalem Palestinians came back positive, according to the Kan Public Broadcaster.
According to Health Ministry data, 19% of tests in Jerusalem as a whole yesterday came back positive; the ministry does not differentiate between East and West Jerusalem in its public reports.
