Netanyahu whips out book of Khamenei’s speeches

Netanyahu’s much-anticipated prop for this year’s UN speech is a copy of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s book with speeches calling for the eradication of Israel “within 25 years.”

He rails against the UN body’s silence at Iran’s calls for the destruction of Israel, and takes a long pause with audible silence dominating the hall.

“It’s not easy for Israel to oppose something embraced by the greatest powers in the world. Believe me, it would be far easier to keep silent,” he says.

“As the prime minister of the Jewish state, I refuse to be silent.”
