Ohana confirmed as public security minister

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed Amir Ohana as public security minister in the next government, with MK Gadi Yeverkan as deputy minister, in charge of the integration of Israelis of Ethiopian descent.

Ohana who served as justice minister in the outgoing government thanks Netanyahu “for the confidence he has placed in me.”

Ohana says: “Most of my adult life and for most of my professional life I have been part of the law enforcement and justice system. As an investigating officer, then in the Shin Bet, during my stage at the State Attorney’s Office, and a criminal lawyer and most recently as justice minister, I have gotten to know the different sections that work under the Public Security Ministry.”
