Poll shows Netanyahu-led bloc slowly gaining ground against opposition

A Channel 12 news poll shows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s-led bloc slowly gaining ground, predicting it would win 52 seats to the Zionist opposition’s 58 if an election were to be held today.
The block was predicted to win 51 seats last week and 49 six weeks ago. Despite the gains, the parties forming the coalition elected in 2022 would not gain a majority.
The poll awards 27 seats to the ruling Likud party; 22 to former prime minister Naftali Bennett’s Bennett 2026; The Democrats 11; Yesh Atid 9; Yisrael Beytenu 9; Otzma Yehudit 9; Shas 8; United Torah Judaism 8; former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar 7; Hadash-Ta’al 5; and Ra’am 5.
Blue and White, Balad and the Reservist’s party fall below the electoral threshold.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism is also predicted not to win any seats, but is likely to partner with Otzma Yehudit with a joint list ahead of the election.
Channel 12 news also reports that Yonatan Shamriz, whose brother Alon was mistakenly killed by IDF troops in December 2032, along with two other hostages, Yotam Haim and Samar Talalka, will join politics and is considering forming his own party.
Shamriz has become a prominent activist since October 7, 2023, and is one of the leaders of Kumu (Rise Up), an organization of border community residents.
