Veteran Mizrahi singer Ofer Levi, an outspoken supporter of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was reportedly interrogated by police today over a video on social media of the artist saying “it’s a duty to put to death” left-wing voters.

The video also showed Levi, 62, saying that “even if we don’t win, we’ll win, because we’ll take the law into our own hands.”

Levi, a Holon resident, claimed on social media after the video was published that it was fake and “edited with an AI tool.”

However, according to Hebrew media, Levi admitted in his interrogation that the video was genuine.

Without naming Levi, police say in a statement that they interrogated a 62-year-old man from Holon on suspicion of inciting violence against “voters of a political party” in a video published on social media.

The suspect was released under restrictive conditions, police say.
