Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai’s car was in a serious accident Friday evening, but he escaped unscathed.
Shabtai’s car flipped over as it was traveling on Route 6 toward Ashkelon, where he was set to attend a Passover seder Friday evening, according to Hebrew media.
A popped tire apparently caused the crash, according to an initial probe, the reports said.
Two passengers in the vehicle traveling sustained light injuries, but Shabtai was unharmed. It was not immediately clear who the passengers were.
Shabtai’s wife, daughter, a bodyguard and a driver were also in the car at the time of the crash, Ynet reported.
Few other details were available. There was no official comment from police or emergency personnel.
