A father and son from central Israel were killed in an accident in Zanzibar, Tanzania, while the mother was moderately injured and hospitalized. Israel’s Foreign Ministry said it was in touch with the family, from Neveh Shalom, and the embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, was aiding in the transport of the bodies.

The father, Ahmed Hajazi, 45, was the principal of the School for Peace at Neveh Shalom, a mixed community of Arabs and Jews. He and his son Adam, 9, were killed when their car overturned.

The family had traveled to Zanzibar for the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
