A two-year-old child died on Thursday after she was left alone in a car in Sderot, medics and Hebrew media reports said.
Magen David Adom said they were called to the scene where the baby was found unconscious in the car. Paramedics tried to revive her as they took her to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon in critical condition.
Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics saw “a civilian holding the baby who was unconscious, had no pulse, wasn’t breathing, and was very warm to the touch,” said a Magen David Adom statement.
“We immediately started resuscitation that included cooling, compressions, and medications, and we rushed her in critical condition to the hospital in an intensive care ambulance.”
The hospital later told the Walla news site that the baby had died.

According to Ynet, the baby was found by a passerby who saw her in the car and tried to rescue her.
She was found at noon as temperatures reached a high of 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 F) on Thursday.
There was no immediate information on the parents of the child or how she came to be alone in the vehicle.
We can't do this work alone.
The war with Iran has been draining for all of us in Israel. But when I heard about a high casualty incident – ballistic missile impacts in Arad and Dimona that left nearly 200 people wounded – I drank a cup of coffee, packed a bag, and headed south.
There, I spoke with Shilgit, the head of an after-school program for underprivileged youth. Standing outside her destroyed center, Shilgit said it was a miracle that no children were hurt and spoke about the community coming together in the hours since.
As a Times of Israel reporter, I’m committed to telling stories of resilience like Shilgit’s. But my colleagues and I can't do this alone.
