The IDF is completely prepared for an influx of ultra-Orthodox recruits, Channel 10 reported Sunday.

The report quoted Lt. Col. Yossi Malka of the military’s human resources division: “It’s a complicated issue, but the IDF is prepared to expand the drafting process of Haredim, if instructions are given in accordance with the law.”

He added that the IDF is investing considerable effort and resources into the matter in order to find “every alternative solution” for effective Haredi service.

Malka said the Haredim have been integrated in technological areas of intelligence, the air force and ordinance corps.

Lt. Col. Gadi Agmon of the IDF’s General Headquarters told Channel 10 that the Chief of Staff’s view is that the military will request budgetary compensation for infrastructure and additional needs associated with each new Haredi recruit.
