The Israeli Air Force struck a terror cell in southern Gaza Saturday, thwarting an imminent rocket attack, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
Two Palestinians who were riding on a motorcycle were injured in the strike and were taken to a hospital in Rafah, according to Palestinian sources.
A statement released by the Spokesperson’s Unit said that the IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm the citizens of Israel, and that it will act against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel.
“The Hamas terrorist organization is the address, and [the organization] bears the responsibility,” read the statement.
Earlier Saturday, a rocket was discovered by the IDF in an open area in Eilat. It was apparently launched at the same time as another rocket that exploded overnight Wednesday in a residential area in the southern Israeli city.
On Tuesday, the IDF fired at a suspected terrorist in northern Gaza who was crawling toward the Israeli border. The man was presumed to have been planning an attack.
