Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak is set to visit the Gaza Strip this week, accompanied by the country’s Foreign Minister Anifah Aman and other officials, according to a Sunday AFP report.

Razak, who is reportedly “deeply concerned” about the situation in the Palestinian territory, is to meet with Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, inspect Shifa Hospital and visit government buildings.

According to Hamas, the delegation will bring a shipment of medical supplies to the Strip.

The one-day visit was coordinated with Egypt, and the Malay delegation is reportedly scheduled to enter Gaza via the Rafah border crossing.
