B.J. Novak lands huge book deal

The former ‘The Office’ star signed to a two-book deal by Knopf Publishers

JTA — B.J. Novak, the head writer and a former actor in the hit TV series “The Office,” has been signed to a two-book deal by Knopf Publishers, reportedly with more than a seven-figure advance. Novak, better known as Ryan the temp, will start with fiction.

His agent compares Novak to a “young Woody Allen.” The Harvard graduate’s work has been consistently smart and intelligent.

Novak’s book deal follows one to another young Jewish ingenue, Lena Dunham, who received a $3 million advance for her upcoming memoir.
