US actor Rob Lowe is visiting Israel this week, staying in Jerusalem’s King David Hotel for what he told another guest was a “guys’ trip.”
The former teen idol, now 58, chatted with the fellow King David guest at breakfast, where they spoke about his 2011 autobiography, “Stories I Only Tell My Friends.”
When she told Lowe the book helped her get through chemotherapy treatment, he told her she’d made his day.
Lowe was also spotted Tuesday at the Western Wall, sporting a white yarmulke on his head.
The actor was last in Israel in 1992 to film Menachem Golan’s B-grade drama, “Finest Hour,” in which he plays a Navy SEAL.

Lowe, known as a 1980s heartthrob and member of the “Brat Pack,” a group of young actors who often appeared together in teen-oriented movies during that decade, had roles in films such as “The Outsiders,” “The Hotel New Hampshire,” “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “About Last Night.”

His career quieted in the 1990s and was revived with his role as Sam Seaborn in “The West Wing,” as well as “Brothers & Sisters,” “Parks and Recreation” and other TV series.
Now Lowe is co-starring with his son, John Owen Lowe, 27, on “Unstable,” a new Netflix show.
