Justin Timberlake is set to play a concert in Tel Aviv’s Park Hayarkon in May 2014, Israeli TV reported Thursday. There was no official confirmation.
Timberlake, 32, a former child TV star turned ‘N Sync band member, solo artist and film star, will play in Israel as part of his 20/20 Experience World Tour, which kicks off next Wednesday in New York City, the report said.
Dates in North America and Europe for the tour have been published through May 12, when the multi-Grammy Award-winner will complete a Scandinavian lap with a concert in Finland. According to Channel 10’s entertainment show “Tonight with Guy Pines,” the Tel Aviv concert will be scheduled for around that period.
Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, is set to accompany him, the report said.
News of Timberlake’s Israel appearance follows reports earlier this week that Cyndi Lauper, the veteran singer-songwriter who wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical “Kinky Boots,” will perform here in January.
Speculation has also ramped up that Beyonce may play an Israel concert in 2014. Israeli production companies are reportedly battling to secure the potential show, which would also likely take place at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park, the only venue capable of holding some 50,000 concert-goers. There are no fewer than five candidates currently vying for the opportunity to cash in, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
