Former Knesset member Amnon Cohen, arrested last week on suspicions of taking bribes and handing out political favors, has been released to house arrest by the Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court, a police spokesperson says.

Cohen, a former Shas MK, is suspected of taking money and other favors of a sexual nature from a businessman, whose interests he then pushed in the Knesset.

Cohen’s lawyer has denied the accusations, some of which came about through an investigation by TV program “Uvda.”
