Former MK suspected of bribe-taking released to house arrest
Former Knesset member Amnon Cohen, arrested last week on suspicions of taking bribes and handing out political favors, has been released to house arrest by the Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court, a police spokesperson says.
Cohen will remain under conditional release to house arrest until at least December 23.
Cohen, a former Shas MK, is suspected of taking money and other favors of a sexual nature from a businessman, whose interests he then pushed in the Knesset.
Cohen’s lawyer has denied the accusations, some of which came about through an investigation by TV program “Uvda.”
