Israel sees Trump keeping low profile in peace process – report

The Foreign Ministry expects that, as president, Donald Trump will reduce the US role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Haaretz reports.

“As part of his minimal interest in foreign affairs, Trump doesn’t see the Middle East as a good investment and it’s reasonable to assume he will seek to reduce American involvement in the region,” says a ministry briefing sent to Israeli diplomats around the world, Haaretz says.

The briefing says that based on Trump’s statements during the campaign it appears he doesn’t have a coherent policy on the issue.
