Khamenei says groups in Syria serve Israeli interests

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says the presence of Islamist extremist groups in Syria and Iraq serves Israeli interests, according to the Iranian PressTV news site. Khamenei does not elaborate any further.

He adds that “enemies” are attempting to “destabilize Syria” and “wreak havoc” on the region as a whole.
