Likud strongman Gilad Erdan is considering not joining Prime Minister Netanyahu’s fourth government, according to a Channel 2 report, after the Israeli leader indicated that he might not appoint Erdan as a minister in the future cabinet.
Netanyahu is now holding a meeting with Erdan, who served as interior minister in the former government, as part of a series of evening meetings with Likud Knesset members.
Netanyahu is set to inform his party members whether or not they will receive one of at least 12 government portfolios, following the Knesset’s approval earlier today of a measure to remove the limit on the number of ministers allowed to serve in the cabinet.

The ministries for Likud members up for grabs include Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Communications, Culture and Sports, Immigration and Absorption, Intelligence, National Infrastructure, Energy and Water, Tourism, Transportation and Road Safety, Welfare and Social Services, Strategic Affairs and Home Front Defense.
Prime Minister Netanyahu’s fourth government will be sworn in Thursday at 7 p.m., according to Channel 2.
