Mattis tells hearing Tel Aviv is Israel’s capital
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePresident-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Pentagon, retired Marine Corps general James “Mad Dog” Mattis, tells his confirmation hearing today that for him, Israel’s capital is Tel Aviv.
Asked what Israel’s capital was, Mattis, answered – “Tel Aviv,” saying that that was where he went to meet Israeli government officials.
Asked if he knew that that differed from Trump’s vow to move the embassy to Jerusalem, Mattis responds: “Right now I stick with the current US policy.”
