The offices of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are trying to arrange a bilateral meeting, a source with knowledge of the matter tells The Times of Israel.

The relationship between the leaders has been frosty. They haven’t met since September 2023, and haven’t spoken by phone since January 2025.

However, their interests overlap on Iran, one of Russia’s main military backers.

Yesterday, Iran’s foreign ministry warned of “unforeseen” consequences following Ukraine’s attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea over the weekend.
