Police: No special unit to probe Magal claims

A police spokesperson says reports of a special investigative unit set up to probe claims of sexual harassment made against MK Yinon Magal by employees of Walla news is false, though police are looking into the allegations.

Earlier, daily Haaretz reported that a special unit had been convened to probe the claims.

The paper reports that it has received several complaints beyond the two revealed on social media, of workers at a goodbye party who say Magal, formerly the editor of Walla, tried to kiss them.

“I knew it would explode,” one tells Haaretz. “He thought he could do anything. He smoked drugs in front of everyone. I saw he was grabbing girl’s butts and trying to kiss them. He didn’t grab anybody by force, like, it was on the edge. But I knew this would end him.”
