Senior Iranian lawmaker: Hormuz belongs to Iran, we will not back down

The Strait of Hormuz will not return to its previous status, says a senior Iranian lawmaker.

Speaking to the Iranian Students News Agency, deputy speaker of parliament Ali Nikzad stresses that Hormuz belongs to Iran.

“We consider the strait as an achievement of the recent imposed war and a divine gift to the great Iranian nation,” says Nikzad, adding that Tehran will not back down from asserting its rights over Hormuz.
