The death penalty for terrorists bill clears initial Knesset vote

Legislation that would allow judges to impose the death penalty on convicted terrorists passes its preliminary reading in the Knesset plenum.

The legislation clears its first reading with 52 lawmakers in favor and 49 opposed.
