A 31-year-old man was fatally shot on Tuesday night in the town of Jadeidi-Makr in northern Israel, as an unrelenting deadly crime wave continues in the Arab community.
The fatality in Tuesday night’s shooting in the western Galilee region was rushed to a Nahariya hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Police were searching for suspects and sweeping the scene of the shooting for evidence.
The victim’s identity and further details about the incident were not immediately available.
The killing marked at least the 47th violent death in the Israeli Arab community since the start of 2022.

Arab communities have seen a surge in violence in recent years. Many blame the police, who they say have failed to crack down on powerful criminal organizations and largely ignore the violence, which includes family feuds, mafia turf wars, and violence against women.
On Saturday, a 24-year-old was found shot and killed in a car next to a soccer field in Jisr az-Zarqa on the northern coast. The same night, at least five were injured in violent altercations in two separate incidents in Arab towns.
