Randy Newman self-censors Trump ‘penis song’
Jewish songwriter says he decided to keep track off new album because it is ‘too vulgar,’ instead including ditty about Putin

Singer Randy Newman said he left a song he wrote about US President Donald Trump off his upcoming album after deciding it was “too vulgar.”
Speaking with the entertainment magazine Vulture in an interview published on Wednesday, the renowned Jewish-American songwriter, composer and arranger revealed the lyrics to the song, which compares the size of his penis with the US president’s.
The singer said that he chose to leave the song off of the album because “I just didn’t want to add to the problem of how ugly the conversation we’re all having is, so I didn’t put it out.”
He quoted the lyrics: “My dick’s bigger than your dick / It ain’t braggin’ if it’s true / My dick’s bigger than your dick / I can prove it too / There it is! There’s my dick / Isn’t that a wonderful sight? / Run to the village, to town, to the countryside / Tell the people what you’ve seen here tonight.” And the chorus: “What a dick!” Duh-duh-duh. “What a dick!”
Although Newman left the song about Trump off the album, he did include a tune about Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In “Putin,” which is set to Russian folk music, Newman sings about the Russian leader’s penchant for being photographed doing manly stuff with his shirt off, invading other countries, and disdaining democracy.
“He can drive his giant tractor / Across the Trans-Siberian plain / He can power a nuclear reactor / With the left side of his brain / And when he takes his shirt off / He drives the ladies crazy / When he takes his shirt off / Makes me wanna be a lady.”
Asked why it was easier for him to write a song about Putin, Newman said “I don’t know. The funny thing was that the song I ended up writing wasn’t even that hard on him, despite the fact he’s a terrible person.”
The Newman album, which is titled Dark Matter, is set to be released on August 4.
