The International MBA in English at Bar-Ilan University in Israel was established 17 years ago. Since then, the program has distinguished itself for the importance that it places on ensuring that its graduates are confident in conducting business within diverse environments and different cultures around the world.
The program is especially designed to provide an intimate atmosphere, with 30 – 35 students in a class. This allows a more personal approach to teaching, with interaction between faculty and students as well as a closeness between the students themselves.
Bar-Ilan University, Israel’s largest academic community, is home to over 30,000 students. It provides a uniquely supportive learning environment, with a friendly campus atmosphere offering a range of cultural and social activities. Bar-Ilan University is located in Ramat-Gan, just 10 minutes from bustling, cosmopolitan Tel Aviv.
Bar-Ilan University’s Graduate School of Business Administration has a proven track record in translating the special qualities which have fueled the Israeli business and entrepreneurial spirit into a state-of-the art academic program. The International MBA program is carefully customized to address not only the theoretical, but also the experiential aspects required in a world-class business education. In addition, students reap major benefits from the eclectic student population which this year includes six students from China.
The program includes excellent networking opportunities and the opportunity to work while you study since classes are 1 afternoon/evening + Friday mornings over one incredible year. The curriculum covers the same amount of material as a traditional MBA in Israel without sacrificing either classroom hours or core curriculum.
The IMBA includes a study tour in China. Uri Florenthal notes that, “Our Study Tour to China was probably the most interesting part of our MBA experience. The chance to see the country, the distinct culture, the vast production lines, along with studying in the luxurious Fudan University was the opportunity of a lifetime. China is overwhelming, and the IMBA program managed to find the perfect combination of studies, work and fun.”
“We place an emphasis on developing practical skills. Our faculty all have professional experience outside academia, allowing for a rounded and relevant curriculum that does not sacrifice academic standards” affirms Cindy Sinvani, the program’s coordinator. “Students choose to study at Bar-Ilan because the curriculum is comparable with those offered at other international business schools but at a competitive, affordable price. Beyond this, our students have the opportunity to experience Israel” says Sinvani.
Jennifer Gold, from Germany, is effusive in her praise of the program, “Bar-Ilan’s IMBA program taught me more than just theories about business from books: each course was hands on – from valuing companies to developing a startup’s business plan with its strategy, mission statements, marketing plan and financial plan. Through working in small groups on projects, each of us got the chance to feel out their leadership and presentation skills. Bottom line: A program totally worth joining.”
