Whale spotted close to Tel Aviv beach
Marine Mammal Center asks Israelis to contact authorities if they see the cetacean, which is believed to frequent coastline

Bathers on Tel Aviv beach were treated to a whale-watching experience Saturday, as a giant marine mammal was spotted in the water off the coast.
The whale was spotted by a surfer at the Hilton Beach in the north of the city, who watched the animal for some 15 minutes, Army Radio reported.
The whale, measuring some 10-meters (33-feet) long, was about 150 meters from the shore when it was spotted.
It seems likely that the whale is the same animal that has been spotted swimming alone near the country’s coastline for the past short while, the radio said.
Israel Marine Mammal Research and Assistance Center is seeking public assistance in locating the whale, and asks anyone who sees it to contact the center via its Facebook page.
