A woman and her infant child were attacked Sunday by an Arab man in the Jerusalem neighborhood of French Hill, Channel 2 reported.
The suspected assailant fled the scene but was apprehended by Israeli security forces shortly thereafter at a checkpoint.
The victims’ conditions were not immediately reported.
The assilant was arrested and taken in for investigation.
Earlier this month, police arrested a Palestinian car thief after a chase through the East Jerusalem village of Issawiya, neighboring French hill, police spokesperson Luba Samri said in a statement.

The car the man was driving first raised suspicion when police saw it traveling through the neighborhood of French Hill in the north-east area of the capital.
The driver, along with another passenger, ignored police demands to stop and fled towards the Arab neighborhood of Issawiya, ramming the police vehicle and setting off a high speed chase.
Of the two suspects in the vehicle, one managed to escape on foot, while the other was apprehended and arrested by the pursuing police officers.
We can't do this work alone.
The war with Iran has been draining for all of us in Israel. But when I heard about a high casualty incident – ballistic missile impacts in Arad and Dimona that left nearly 200 people wounded – I drank a cup of coffee, packed a bag, and headed south.
There, I spoke with Shilgit, the head of an after-school program for underprivileged youth. Standing outside her destroyed center, Shilgit said it was a miracle that no children were hurt and spoke about the community coming together in the hours since.
As a Times of Israel reporter, I’m committed to telling stories of resilience like Shilgit’s. But my colleagues and I can't do this alone.
